August 2026 Newsletter - Bridge Month Edition
August is known as the Bridge Month, a major transition period in the Northern
hemisphere. It is typically the hottest month of the year but also signals the end of
summer. Our real-life transitions are not unlike August; some grieve at the ending of
summer while others welcome the transition to winter months. But between summer
and winter there is Fall where we experience both and.
The Neutral Zone
After an ending we occupy a “Neutral Zone” the ending has happened, but the new
thing is not fully formed. A time of uncertainty and disorientation shows up as we ask
ourselves Should I wear a sweater or jacket today? Your old way of thinking is no
longer enough for the person you intend to become. Unfortunately, when we are
emotionally overwhelmed, we tend to revert to what I call the default mindset that we
have cultivated over time (more on default mindset in a future newsletter).
KLH Associates Mindset Align Coaching’s Neutral zone exploration is an inner process
that leads to increased emotional intelligence. A time for growth in self-awareness
increased self-regulation ability, capacity for empathy, self-motivation and attunement to
the emotions of others. We do not instruct on what to think, we provide space for you to
explore your thought processes. The neutral zone is where real personal growth and
clarity can happen creating inner harmony and resonance with the external world.
The last week of August also signifies to birds the start of the Fall migration, it's time to
leave the familiar and move towards a warmer place transitioning through the neutral
zone.
