Change - Clarification - Actualization Process

Let Go

LET GO: clarity leads to increased self-awareness. Identifying specific activities that may have served you well during your life’s journey to this point, allows the opportunity for clearing out emotional clutter and resolution. Resolution does not mean you will never again be anxious about upcoming situations nor that you will never be consumed by negativity of the past. Letting Go is self-awareness of emotions as you are experiencing them, leading to acceptance then to utilizing self-calming skills.

What is going on with the brain: The human brain is efficient at signaling immediate danger and preparing us to resolve the danger, the limbic system protected early humans from threat from larger predators. Today the danger we face is more psychological than biological. Humans, overtime, develop ways to cope with danger or perceived dangers when the limbic system is activated. We cannot change our emotional reactions to activators, but we can learn to respond to the emotions differently (EI Golman).
